  • Name and email address when you create an account (via Supabase Auth or Google OAuth)
  • Business information if you claim a notary listing (address, phone, services, hours)
  • Review content and ratings you submit
  • Messages sent through our contact form
  • Payment information processed securely by Stripe (we do not store card details)

Information Collected Automatically

  • Browser type, device information, and operating system
  • IP address and approximate location
  • Pages visited, time spent, and interactions with the site
  • Referring URL and search terms used

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide and maintain the NotaryScout service
  • Process account registration and authentication
  • Display notary listings and connect users with notaries
  • Process payments for Premium and Featured subscriptions
  • Send transactional emails (account verification, claim confirmations, receipts)
  • Improve our service through analytics and usage patterns
  • Respond to support requests and inquiries
  • Prevent fraud and enforce our terms of service

3. Analytics and Tracking

We use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to understand how visitors use NotaryScout. These tools collect anonymized usage data including pages visited, session duration, and interaction events.

Google Analytics uses cookies to distinguish unique users. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

4. Email Communications

We use Resend to send transactional emails related to your account, including:

  • Email verification and account confirmation
  • Claim verification for notary listings
  • Payment receipts and subscription updates
  • Responses to contact form submissions

We do not sell your email address or send unsolicited marketing emails.

5. Third-Party Services

NotaryScout uses the following third-party services that may collect or process your data:

  • Supabase - Authentication and database hosting
  • Google OAuth - Social login authentication
  • Stripe - Payment processing for subscriptions

10. Children's Privacy

NotaryScout is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately and we will take steps to delete that information.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated via email or a prominent notice on the site. Your continued use of NotaryScout after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
